Heather + Nate

Earlier in the year, Heather and Nate pretty much decided that they were going to do anything possible to become my favorite clients.  The fun-loving couple are more-than-happy to take that extra step to make sure their photos are memorial and amazing.  Many of you will remember the engagement session under the shower.  Yeah.  That was them.

As I’ve stated recently, whenever possible I like to take my bride and groom outside of their reception hall during sunset or shortly after to try to make some quick, dramatic portraits.  But Nate and Heather are the first to suggest that maybe we leave the reception grounds to go to a more photo-friendly spot.

I’m lovin’ it!

We went to nearby Oak Lake in Lincoln for the two twighlight photos you see here.  Including transportation time, the trip took them away from their reception for less than a half hour. I hope they forever love the results as much as I do.

Thanks you two for being so awesome!

Stephanie + Ben

Stephanie and Ben’s Omaha wedding was probably the classiest wedding I’ll have this wedding season.  Stephanie was the textbook definition of elegance with her pearl jewelry and her long, hand-made veil.  Absolutely gorgeous.

The ceremony was held at the beautiful St. Cecilia cathedral in midtown, followed by a candlelight reception at 1316 Jones St. in the Old Market.  At the reception, they had the best live entertainment I’ve seen since going to my dear friends’, Ryan and Barb Soderlin’s Chicago wedding.  For the life of me, I cannot remember the band’s name…but when I get it I’m certainly going to post them some props here.  Very fun!

Jennifer + Donovan

One of the nice things about shooting weddings of friends and family is that I get to drink more beer.  And in doing so, I really had a blast photographing Jennifer and Donovan’s wedding day.  The limo ride was an absolute blast.

Speaking of more beer, that last photo is of Donovan’s nephew, Adam serenading the couple with his rendition of “Shameless.”  But it was only the second-best performance of the night, as the bride and groom made their grand entrance into the reception with Donovan singing “Stroke It” while wearing dark shades with the mic in his hand.

You really had to be there!

Tami + Seth

I’m so far behind in blogging, that I thought I already posted this.

Tami and Seth are a crazy couple who scheduled an outdoor wedding in the middle of August in Nebraska.  If I hadn’t had so much fun with them during their engagment session, I would have dreaded the wedding.  But as it turned out, the weather spectacular while hovering in the upper 70s.

Truth be known, I actually really looked forward to their wedding.  Tami booked me waaaaaay in advance and I had looked forward to their cool venues for about a year-and-a-half.  The wedding was at the ampitheater at Yanni Park in Kearney.  After a trolly ride around town, we ended up at the Archway Museam that spans accross I-80.

Tami and Seth literally treated me like family.  Tami had a flower ready for my lapel and the two included me in their program.  That’s love, folks!

Thanks guys for including me in your wedding!

Ricki + Scott

Congratulations to Ricki and Scott who had Lane Weddings shoot their Omaha wedding reception.  And congratulations to Alyssa Schukar who shot probably her last Lane Weddings assignment.  Alyssa recently took a job shooting for the Omaha World Herald.  Her photos from the event rocked!

Stacey + Chris

I bet the Hastings Auditorium never looked as good as it did the day Stacey and Chris got married.  What a fabulous job of decorating they did.  I had a lot of fun photographing the two of them, expecially during our little excursion to the park where the two got a lesson on balance.  The first photo shows the two of them getting back up after falling over for one of my portraits.  Too funny!

Some of my favorite photos of the day came from the camera of Erin Duerr, who assisted me.

Deb + Tony in Seaside, Oregon!

I’ve had fun at most of the weddings I’ve covered, but this one takes the cake. Deb and Tony decided to leave the Nebraska August heat for the cool Oregon Coast. Their wedding was so refreshingly simple, yet extraordinarily beautiful. The guest list consisted of only a few friends and family, hair was done by the maid-of honor, the groom wore flip-flops and the music was provided by the Pacific.

For any you out there wondering if I’m available for destination weddings, the answer is a resounding “YES!”

Thanks Deb and Tony for having me photograph your wonderful event!

Lacey + Jon

Last month Ryan Soderlin, who is a dear friend and a photographer-extraordinaire, photographed Lacey and Jon’s wedding for me.

The Grand Island couple got married in Chadron State Park in what looked to be a beautiful setting. Ryan, of course, knocked it out of the park. I just love the photo of the two flower girls pickin’ and eatin’ :)
