Road trip: barns and pizzarias.

I just got done with a three-day, 700-mile whirlwind trip photographing 23 different pizzerias in Omaha and various towns in Iowa.

Anyway, I needed to make a rural pit stop last night, so I pulled off the interstate.  I saw this barn (above) and thought it was pretty with the Christmas lights in the twilight.  Pretty enough to pull out my camera and walk through a little snow.

Winter vistas.

I’m not a huge fan of winter.  I usually think the time between the first of January until the middle of April is my least favorite.  You don’t get to spend much time outdoors, the days are short and everything is so washed out and ugly.

But I have a warm place in my heart for winter days like today.  I love the muffled sound of the outdoors on a snowy day.  Oh and it is sooooo, sooooo beautiful.  I love when the sky is filled with humongous snowflakes, and the ground is shrowded by a delicate blanket of white powder.  It is truley lovely!

And something about a fresh snowfall makes the cold seem okay.

Spiffy new digs for this wedding photographer.

Here’s the new home to Lane Weddings.  We’ve moved to 13520 Discovery Dr. #208 in the heart of Millard (which is in Omaha, for any of you out-of-towners).

I’m lovin the new space.  It’s a lot easier for my clients to find me and I’m able to get more work done (hypothetically).   I’m here on just a short sublease to see if it’s where I want to be.

Come visit!

Wess and Shannon: Lovely winter weather.

I had a great time shooting Wess and Shannon’s engagement session last week.  We enjoyed a lovely reprieve from the weather.  This time of year I shoot so much less than normal, so it was nice to shoot some people again!  Plus a little fresh air did me some good!

Wess and Shannon were a total kill, laughing throughout the whole shoot.  They are the type of couple you know will bring each other lots of happiness over the years.
