I’d like to invite my friends and family and clients to a free Christmas card shoot Wednesday, December 5 at dusk.  This will be a free session with absolutely no opportunity to purchase anything.  All that I ask is that you pay it forward by doing something nice for somebody else over the holiday season. [...]

I almost forgot how to post onto my blog.  And I certainly have forgotten the enjoyment of going out and making some photos just because it’s a fun thing to do.  I was inspired by the beauty of  Autumn to go out and shoot a few images at one of my favorite nearby parks: Platte [...]

Highs in the low 70s, no wind, partly cloudy.  I’ll take it!  Darci and Ben got married Saturday in a beautiful ceremony at the Elmwood Park grotto in Omaha.  It was a simple and short ceremony and absolutely gorgeous.  Following the ceremony, we cruised around in a VIP Limousine for a spell including a stop [...]

The new Wedding Essentials magazine comes out today and yours truly photographed the cover and inside bridal fashion spread. Here’s the cover: Here’s my favorite image from the shoot: Keyla was an amazing model!  I don’t think I’ve ever photographed anybody more photogenic and easy to work with. Model: Keyla Sanchez, Image Modeling Inc. Makeup: [...]

Lynn and Rippi made their only visit between booking me and their wedding over Christmas break. So we were thrilled when the weather cooperated, allowing us to have an outdoor engagement session.  We met up in Nebraska City where the Boston couple will tie the knot this spring.  I love Nebraska City!  It was fun [...]

…was dancin’ to the jailhouse rock! Here’s a quick shot of Courthouse and Jail Rocks in Western Nebraska.  I was reminded today by an old friend that I don’t have many scenic photos on my blog these days (or at least scenic photos that don’t include a couple getting married).  I suppose I don’t shoot [...]

I’ve been swamped lately and horrible about blogging.  I have lots of good stuff to show in the near future from some recent shoots.  Until then, enjoy our jack-o-lanterns we carved today!

It was really a treat getting to spend a day watching Brianna glide through her wedding day. The smile on that girl’s face was so big, so long lasting that by the end of the day, my face hurt!  Jason is a quality character, himself, but he really married himself a dandy.  First Plymouth Congregational [...]

In just over a week, this great couple will be tying the knot. For their engagement session, they brought along their adorable new son, Kyle. After the three of us rocked out a great studio session, Kyle went with grandma and grandpa while the Nicole, Tim and I hit the town.

I’m usually not a huge fan of shooting around flowers.  I just don’t think they photograph well as a background most the time.  But the nice, soft light provided by overcast skies gave the full bloom flowers at the Sass Memorial Iris Garden in Mahoney State Park a nice ‘pop’ when Becky, Tom and I [...]

Kaity was a beautiful and extremely elegant bride. Tom and his groomsmen couldn’t look sharper in their U.S. Marine Corps dress uniforms. It was an elegant wedding all around punctuated by the amazing decor, entertainment and especially the food at Anthony’s Steakhouse in Omaha. Kaity is the daughter of the owners of and they pulled [...]

How freaking cool was this photo opportunity for me?  Alex was in need of new tires for his bike anyway, so he came up with the idea that we include a burnout in our engagement session. Ummmm….OKAY!!!! The fun hardly ended there.  Ashley and Alex are crazy comfortable in front of the camera, making my [...]

It seems like just yesterday that I was posting Brittany & Ben’s engagement photos and now here are the wedding images.  It’s pretty transparent the love the two have for each other just by checking out the way they look at each other.  They got married on a beautiful spring day (maybe a little chilly [...]

Filled with white blossoms, the trees outside St. John’s Catholic Church in Valley on Aubree & Jerad’s wedding day  were just as breathtaking as the snowy white trees we photographed under more than a year ago for their engagement session. Aubree & Jerad’s wedding a couple weeks ago was a fantastic kick-off to my 2011 [...]

Ben & Brittany are both musicians–with good taste I might add.  It’s not often enough I find somebody who shares my love for 90s rock & alternative.  For their engagement session we hit downtown Omaha.  I kinda dig the blurred city lights in the second image, which was done in-camera. I think I’m on a [...]

He’s an outdoors-man who likes country music.  She’s more of  an uptown girl.  But they both like spending time with family and each other.  For their Lincoln engagement session we brought the best of both urban and country with their images.   I’m looking forward to later this month when their wedding bells start ringin’.

With their wedding date right around the corner and winter weather lingering beyond it’s welcome, we decided to spend the afternoon at the zoo for Alex & Molly’s engagement session.  I love the zoo in the winter; especially the jungle. You get green flora, warmth and humidity: all things that you normally have to wait [...]

Kaity, Tom & I shot a little deeper into the night than I normally do during our downtown Omaha engagement session.  Anybody who follows my photography knows that I love it when it gets a little dark.  Here’s some pics:

If you come into my studio for a consultation this month, there is a better-than-average chance that I’ll end up showing you this wedding.  What’s not to love about it?  Nebraska City in October.  Outdoor ceremony.  Beautiful couple who are ridiculously in love with each other.  Great families (including a former bride of mine).  It [...]

I’ve been busy, busy, busy lately. It seems like its been forever since I’ve had a chance to sit down and smell the roses. I used to make photos similar to this one by using patience and planning. Patience is a luxury that has been hard to find lately. I was driving back to Grand [...]

So pretty much every Saturday for the past couple months I’ve been shooting either weddings or Nebraska football games. Lets just say the weddings have been much more joyous. This Nebraska team is bad. I mean rotten tomatoes bad. I mean you can count on the Big XII player of the week being a member [...]

I’m hangin’ out at the Comstock Windmill Festival. Kenny Rogers is looking old. I just looked at his discography and The Gambler came out in 1978. I remember as a boy my mom had that album. She would dance with me while the bass on their console sterio (we’re talkin, 8-track and vynl days, youngsters) [...]

This year Mother’s Day takes on a whole new meaning. Not that I didn’t appreciate my own mom before having Owen, but now I think I have a whole new appreciation for her. She sure did a good job raising my brother, sister and I in tender nurturing way. I am very fortunate to have [...]

The past couple weeks I’ve been taking a little vacation time, only working during the evenings so I can watch Owen during the days. It’s been a lot of fun spending some quality time with the lil’ guy. A lot has changed in his personality since I originally posted the things he likes and dislikes. [...]
