It’s common practice for my couples to see each other before their ceremony. It tends to be the most practical way for most people’s wedding days to flow. It allows us to get great photos before the day starts to dictate where they are going to be.
I think it’s important to make that first look memorable. Generally we’ll have the groom get set up and then have the bride walk up behind him for a reveal. Usually its just the three of us (plus the videographer if applicable). I encourage them to take a few minutes to talk privately with each other. Quiet alone moments between a couple on their wedding day can be a hard thing to come by, but so special when it happens.
I cherish those moments!
