I had to do something different.

While this blog, VIEW, has been suffering, I’ve been updating

a couple other blogs. Hopefully you’ve all checked out pics of my son at “The

Charmed Life of Owen Carl.” There have been some fun updates by my

wife, Sarah, Lynnett Kastens and myself lately. But I’ve also been putting a

lot of effort into my wedding photography business at LaneWeddings.com

where I’ve also been keeping a blog.

Well, something has to go. My sister, mom and Barb Soderlin

would all kill me if I quit feeding Owen’s site. Not to mention, it might be

my favorite place in all of cyberspace. And as starved as it might be, I’ve

been building this blog for way too long (more than 5 years!) to let it die.

That leaves the wedding blog for the chopping block. Like Charmed Life, the

wedding blog was powered by Google’s Blogger. As simple as it might be, I’m

frustrated by how generic Blogger blogs look. Seems these days everybody has

a Blogger site. That’s all well and fine, but Lane Weddings is not about generic,

cookie-cutter templates that look the same as 100,000 other sites and publish

photos way too small.

Lane Weddings is a special company that delivers it’s couples

a wedding photography experience they can’t otherwise find. It is the furthest

thing from a cookie-cutter photography studio. With that in mind, I merged the

wedding blog, which is an important part to LaneWeddings.com,

with this blog. There will probably be a few more changes and a bit of a facelift

to follow. But this will continue to be the place where I show the best I have

to offer.

So I’ve added several updates (some of them intertwined chronologically

with VIEW entries that were already here) dating back to May or June. I also

added a comments feature, so I’d love to hear from you.

The next few photos (or should I say previous few photos) are

some shots from the wedding of Jason and Katie that I photographed last weekend.

Cheers!

Thanks for reading!

-Lane
