This year Mother’s Day takes on a whole new meaning.

Not that I didn’t appreciate my own mom before having Owen, but now I think I have a whole new appreciation for her. She sure did a good job raising my brother, sister and I in tender nurturing way. I am very fortunate to have grown up in the household my mother kept. Mom, I love you very much.

I love watching Sarah care for Owen. She is such a good mother to our son. She is patient, loving and always giving of herself. She has found a beautiful balance of always being there for him and yet giving him the space he needs to develop as a strong, independent boy.

Owen and I are very fortunate to have her in our lives.

The past couple weeks I’ve been taking a little vacation time, only working during the evenings so I can watch Owen during the days. It’s been a lot of fun spending some quality time with the lil’ guy.

A lot has changed in his personality since I originally posted the things he likes and dislikes. Each day he becomes more grown up and more independent. It blows my mind how fast he develops.

Before the end of May he’ll likely be twice his birthweight. He sleeps all night (most nights). He’s capable of entertaining himself for periods of time. He smiles all the time.

It’s just been a lot of fun!
