Dana + Lance: Rocky Mountain High

Needless to say, Dana and Lance’s Estes Park wedding was in a beautiful setting!  Unfortunately for them, rain moved their outdoor wedding ceremony into an indoor chapel at the YMCA of the Rockies.  But the rain couldn’t dampen the mood.  We took time to make some photos at their original ceremony location.  Ridiculously gorgeous!

Second Helpings

Some of the best photos from Saturday’s wedding with Jina and Dan didn’t come from my camera.  Rather they were made through the creative eye of Teresa Prince (you can see her on the bottom-right of this photo in the ballroom of Omaha’s Scottish Rite Masonic Center.)

Click here are some examples of her stellar wedding photography from this Saturday.

To all of my 2009 brides that still have weddings coming up: take notice! Teresa rocks!  She will be your second photographer if you opt to have one for your wedding date.  If you mention that you saw this blog entry, I’ll happily take 33% off the hourly rate for a second photographer.

Kelly + Kellen: Brownville stars

I met with Kelly and Kellen in Brownville for their engagement session (they live in Kansas City, so it was a nice half-way spot).  I just love that little town and the countryside around it.  In usual Lane fashion, I had them perform a sunset dip along a country road outside of Brownville.  I just love Kelly and Kellen’s “Dancing With The Stars”-inspired no-hands dip.

I’m looking forward to their wedding early next year that should kick-off my 2010 wedding season.

Kaycee + Steve: Beautiful light!

Kaycee and Steve met me on one of those evenings where you couldn’t ask for prettier natural light.  As many of you know, I use a lot of off-camera flash.  In fact, I’ll be teaching a class about using off-camera flash to make dramatic sunset portraiture.  On this night, Teresa joined me to shoot some images that demonstrate my setup and also what the scene looked like if exposed without the flash.  I’ll show some of those during the class which will be held September 29 at My Studio, 11138 Q St.  More on that later…

So despite making lots of artificial light images, I ended up liking many of the natural light ones best.  Here’s a sample:
